The Gist (The Honest Truth)

Look, I’m a tinkerer just like you. I spend my time hunting down the coolest mechanical kits and schematics because I love seeing how this stuff comes together. I’m not some massive corporation with a customer service floor; I’m just a guy who found a way to get these kits into your hands.

Because I’m the middleman and not the manufacturer, I can’t personally guarantee that every single kit is a 1:1 perfect match for the renders—suppliers iterate on parts all the time. I also can't know your skill level. If you get halfway through and realize you’re in over your head, or if you accidentally snap a component during assembly, I can’t bankroll that.

If something is legitimately wrong—like a supplier forgot a major part—I will absolutely go to bat for you and try to get them to send a replacement. I want your build to be a success as much as you do. But at the end of the day, I’m an advocate, not an insurance policy. This is "build-at-your-own-risk," and all sales are final.

Returns & Refund Policy

1. Final Sale Agreement By purchasing from Crank Town, you acknowledge that all sales are Final. We do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges. This applies to physical kits, individual hardware, and all digital schematics. We do not accept returns for "buyer’s remorse," project difficulty, or because you changed your mind.

2. Mandatory "Unboxing Protocol" (Anti-Fraud) To protect the community and the shop from fraudulent claims, we will not provide any assistance for missing or damaged parts without a continuous, unedited unboxing video.

  • The Requirement: You must film the unopened package (showing the shipping label clearly), the breaking of the seal, and the full inventorying of parts in one single shot.

  • The Reason: This is your only proof that an item was missing or damaged before it reached your workbench. Without this video, we cannot verify if a part was missing from the supplier or lost/broken by you. No video means no support.

3. "As-Is" Condition & Design Variations Mechanical components are subject to manufacturing iterations. You agree that:

  • Physical kits may vary slightly from website imagery in finish, color, material grade, or packaging.

  • Descriptions are provided by third-party suppliers; Crank Town does not verify every technical specification.

  • Minor aesthetic discrepancies that do not impede the mechanical function of the kit are not grounds for a dispute.

4. Facilitator Status & Third-Party Liability Crank Town acts strictly as a facilitator. We do not manufacture the kits.

  • Manufacturing Defects: Liability for defects lies solely with the third-party manufacturer.

  • Voluntary Advocacy: If you provide a valid Unboxing Video showing a defect, we will, as a courtesy, contact the supplier to request a remedy. No outcome is guaranteed. We are not obligated to provide a refund or replacement if the supplier refuses.

5. International Shipping & Customs (DAP) All international orders are shipped DAP (Delivered at Place).

  • Buyer Responsibility: You are 100% responsible for all import duties, taxes, and customs fees.

  • Customs Issues: If your local authorities seize, open, or destroy a package, Crank Town is not liable. It is your responsibility to ensure the items are legal in your jurisdiction.

  • Shipping Failures: Our liability ends when the carrier takes possession. We are not responsible for packages stolen after delivery or delayed by customs.

6. Assembly Risk & User Error Waiver Mechanical assembly involves inherent risks. By purchasing, you agree:

  • No Guarantee of Success: You are responsible for your own technical skills. We do not guarantee you will be able to complete the kit.

  • Damage During Build: If you strip a screw, break a frame, or damage a component during assembly, Crank Town will not provide a free replacement.

  • Safety: You assume all risk of personal injury (cuts, eye injuries, etc.). We are not liable for any harm caused by the assembly or operation of these items.

7. Digital Product Policy All digital schematics and CAD files are delivered instantly. Once the download link is provided, the sale is strictly non-refundable. Digital assets are provided "As-Is" with no guarantee of compatibility with specific software versions.

8. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of Crank Town and its operators for any claim shall not exceed the original purchase price of the item. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or "lost time" damages.

9. Governing Law This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada. Any legal proceedings shall be held exclusively in the courts of Montreal, Quebec.

10. Severability If any part of this policy is deemed unenforceable, the remainder of the policy remains in full effect.
