Shipping policy

Shipping mechanical kits across the world is a massive puzzle. I use flat-rate shipping to keep things simple for you, but let’s be real: sometimes the system gets the math wrong or the carriers spike their prices overnight. If a shipping rate comes back way higher than what you paid, I reserve the right to cancel the order and refund you. I’m not a logistics giant; I’m just a guy getting these kits from point A to point B.

Once the package is in the hands of the carrier, it’s out of my control. If it gets stuck in customs, stolen from your porch, or delayed by a storm, that’s between you and the carrier. I’ll provide the tracking info, but after that, you’re the captain of the ship.

Shipping Policy

1. Processing & Handling All orders are processed within 2-5 business days. Orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or holidays. Because Crank Town is a small-scale operation, processing times may vary during high-demand periods.

2. Flat Rate Shipping & Right to Cancel Crank Town utilizes a flat-rate shipping model for simplicity. However, shipping rates are subject to volatile market changes and carrier adjustments.

  • Right of Cancellation: Crank Town reserves the absolute right to cancel any order if the actual shipping cost significantly exceeds the flat rate paid at checkout.

  • Resolution: In the event of a rate discrepancy, we will notify you. We may offer you the option to pay the difference or receive a full refund via your original payment method. We are not obligated to honor shipping rates that result in a financial loss for the shop.

3. International Shipping (DAP - Delivered at Place) We ship internationally, but every country has its own rules.

  • Importer of Record: You, the buyer, are the "Importer of Record." You are responsible for ensuring the product can be lawfully imported to your destination.

  • Duties and Taxes: All international orders are subject to local import duties, VAT, and customs fees. These are not included in the purchase price or shipping cost. You are 100% responsible for paying these fees to your local authorities.

  • Customs Delays/Seizures: Crank Town is not liable for packages delayed, opened, or seized by customs. No refunds will be issued for items destroyed or held by customs authorities.

4. Transfer of Risk & Carrier Liability The risk of loss and title for all items pass to you upon our delivery of the package to the carrier (e.g., Canada Post, DHL, UPS).

  • Lost or Stolen Packages: Crank Town is not responsible for "porch piracy" or packages marked as "Delivered" that you cannot find.

  • Shipping Damage: If a package arrives damaged, you must still follow the Mandatory Unboxing Protocol (see below) to seek any potential assistance. Claims for damage caused by the carrier must be filed directly with the carrier.

5. Mandatory Unboxing Protocol As stated in our Returns and Terms of Service, no claims for missing or damaged components will be considered without a continuous, unedited unboxing video. * The video must show the shipping label, the sealed box, and the opening/inventory of all parts.

  • This protocol is strictly enforced to distinguish between shipping damage, supplier errors, and user-inflicted damage during assembly.

6. Incorrect Shipping Information If a package is returned to Crank Town due to an incorrect address provided by the user or failure to pick up the package from a local sorting facility, the user is responsible for all additional shipping costs to resend the item. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.

7. Limitation of Liability Crank Town is not liable for any "lost time," "project delays," or emotional distress caused by shipping delays, carrier errors, or customs issues. Our liability ends once the tracking number is generated and the package is accepted by the carrier.
